Kazan Stevens, resident at the Controversial Boys Home in Sandy Point, St. Kitts Graduates

“I wonder what the dozens of persons from Sandy Point, St. Kitts, who gathered at the launch to OPPOSE  The Unique Touch Christian Centre – www.utccskn.org Save Our Sons Boy’s Home launch would say now, when yet another proud High School graduant has made it.” Those were the words of President of Dare 2 Be Different International (www.d2bdifferent.com) and co-pastor at The Unique Touch Christian Centre, - www.utccskn.org - Khrystus Wallace after he and a contingent from the church attended Kazan Stevens’ Verchilds High School Graduation.

Kazan Stevens is one of the many boys whose life the S.O.S Home has touched over the years. This home that falls under the church caters to at risk boys and aims to change their mindset and behavioral problems by changing their environment to that of a Christian Based Setting.

Pastor Clive and First Lady Saunders attended the graduation event and were proud, yet humbled and kept on smiling as Kazan received his certificate marking the completion of his High School career.

For Pastor Saunders, the Don’t Tap Out Pastor, it was probably sheer joy indeed.

“Don’t bring criminals into our community!” That was one of the very demeaning statements shouted outside the launch of the S.O.S Home years ago. To date, the home has added several positive products back into society. Carlos Whyte, who was once a resident at the home, having been placed there under Court Order, has grown into a healthy young man and is now a member of The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. Carlos who was once in trouble with the LAW,  is working to encourage young men not to follow in his path especially since he is now employed by Government’s TOP enforcement Body.

This is what the church has done boasted Khrystus Wallace. We don’t give up on our YOUTH.

Visionary Saunders has a dream of building the Save Our Sons Complex and solicits local and international help. He sees this as a NEED because many of these AT  RISK boys are just thrown into prison like hardened criminals when they can be helped, just like Kazan, just like Carlos and many others who’ve been impacted.

"I want to see Kazan and Carlos further their education, whether technical or vocational at some international college. Thus, I am calling on the WORLD to chip in and help. Let's not leave them where they are, let us further encourage and motivate them to keep climbing the ladder. I am calling on Dare 2 Be Different's international ministry internet followers to consider funding further education for these young men. We want their pictures on the wall of our S.O.S home to motivate the other at risk boys we will impact in the future. We want their pictures to show the others that they too can achieve! We're waiting on you to contact and pledge your help." Wallace closed with those comments.

International individuals and donors interested in lending a helping hand whether financially, to acquire land and help build this facility, or through food items, clothes, computers etc can email: ineedjesus@utccskn.org or mail:

Unique Touch Christian Centre, Romney Ground, Sandy Point, St. Kitts continues to GROW

The Unique Touch Christian Centre, Romney Ground, Sandy Point, St. Kitts started when God gave Pastor Clive Saunders a vision to start a church for young people. To give a little history, the church's first drum set was comprised of some buckets to provide a little music.

In the video, Worship Minister Donell Caines, a founding member and also a youth, leads Sunday Morning Worship.

Over the church's 8+ years of existence, it still caters to a multiplicity of youth but has grown tremendously.

Visit and contact the church to become a partner through it's website: http://www.utccskn.org/

Sandy Point Community in St. Kitts, West Indies opens New Year with Successful Unity Service

by Khrystus Wallace for
DaringDifferently.com & CNN iReport

“All in all, I think the event was well supported and it was a great way to start the New Year 2012.” Those were the words of President of the Sandy Point United Churches Association, Pastor Prisca Heyligar.

Churches in Sandy Point united on the afternoon of 1st January, 2012 at the community’s basketball court to welcome in the New Year. The effort was indeed collaborative and saw all the churches in the Sandy Point area participating.

Singing Evangelist Pastor Phillip Webbe was host for the afternoon – evening event and did a splendid job. He commended the efforts of the Pastors and hinted one reason why folks should know Christ, as their relationship with Him can definitely conquer discouragement.

Marissa Dupont opened the proceedings with a rousing rendition thanking God for bringing the world thus far. She was followed by the opening prayer by Rev. Rohan of the Immanuel Methodist Church.

Vakeel Herbert could not have done a better job with his rendition of the St. Kitts-Nevis national anthem. His melodious voice was truly a gift from God.

The afternoon’s proceedings continued with Pastor Prisca Heyligar, President of the Sandy Point United Churches Association giving the welcome and opening remarks. She was followed by a lively and energetic worship experience led by Bro. Donelle Caines of The Unique Touch Christian Centre and accompanied by members of various worship teams in the community.

Among many of the songs that were sang, one titled “Lord you are good and your mercy endureth forever,” seemed to mean so much to attendees as they sang out quite lustily. This was probably because they were giving thanks to God through song for bringing them to another year.

Other specials came from The Unique Touch Christian Centre through dance, the Wesleyan Holiness Church through song, The Apostolic Faith Mission though Monologue and the Immanuel Baptist Church through dance.

Tabia Powell-Revan from the Sandy Point Seventh Day Adventist Church, The Abundant Life Church Pan Players and the Evangelistic Faith Church Dance Mimers highlighted the event with their renditions.

All ministries did a splendid job ministering.

How can such a powerful event be hosted without a word or words from the Lord. Certainly Not! Pastor Steve Huggins from the newest Church in The Sandy Point Area – Destiny International and Elder Floyd Revan of the Seventh Day Adventist Church delivered two powerful words that challenged the community.

Pastor Steve’s title was Love One Another while Elder Revan reminded attendees of the importance of praising God according to Psalm 150.

Elder Revan shared a powerful poem highlighting how the birds probably praise God and concluded by challenging the audience never to let the birds and animals outdo us as humans.

Right after his world, Pastor Webbe and the United Worshipers led out in a New Year Victory Praise Party on the hard court. After which, Pastor Mark Hodge of the Apostolic Faith Mission gave the final challenge.

The Sandy Point United Churches Association must be commended for rallying together and helping the community start the year right. Cheers to Pastor Heyligar and her UNITED TEAM.
